Planting Instructions
Our plantable seed cards were developed by Good Deeds Market in an effort to support pollinators, restore habitats, increase native biodiversity, and provide critical food for the iconic yet vulnerable Monarch Butterfly. When planted, the card will grow a beautiful pollinator garden with blooms in pink, purple, yellow, and orange.
1. Thoroughly water your seed card with cool water
2. Place the wet seed card directly into a pot or garden bed located in a sunny location and cover with 1/8" soil (just enough to keep it from blowing away)
3. Keep the soil and paper moist
4. Seedlings should appear in 4-10 days
Note: Our seed cards have a shelf life of 2 years. Ideal planting time in the Northeast is late fall (October-November) so that the milkweed seeds can go through the natural cold stratification process. Winter's cold and moisture helps to loosen the seed coats, enabling them to germinate in the spring.
